Lookbook ::: OneTeaspoon A/W 1011

Some people cannot wait until the day they turn 18: they run free, careless and might even pack their few belongings to take a road trip. But what they don’t have in mind is a concrete and ambitious vision of their future. The young Amy Walsham took that road trip from Queensland all the way down to Sydney but instead of camping, partying or visiting friends, she had 2 scissors, a suitcase full of clothes and her head filled with visions. It doesn’t come as a surprise that her first designs were sold alongside Australia’s motorways until a streetwear retailer ordered the first selected items in 2000. By now, OneTeaspoon’s unconventional designs and selective designs are available world-wide and celebrities like Mischa Barton and Nicole Richie are among the famous fans.

Irregular hemlines and cuts, impure prints, slouchy and oversized cuts meet high quality fabrics in soft rosé, black, white and jeansblue while  decoratively placed utensils like colossal zippers, perfect beading and studded designs create a contrasting interplay leaving the wearer effortlessly fashionable day- and nighttime. My personal favorite are the bodysuits with ueberlarge frills. Definitely a new label to keep in mind.

Falling For Red

I stumbled over the new arrivals in OneTeaspoon‘s online shop and again, I am ridiculously IN LOVE. Soft suede in a warm orange-red?! Common…how can you not love a pair of shorts called Yoko’s. Since the Berlin Summer is slowly approaching a Berlin Fall – this warm tone couldn’t be better suited to resemble the warm colors of the third season. But I might need a little more fabric than this Australian label has to offer in order to stand the lower temperatures though. I did a little research for you and have come up with 3 jeans alternatives. They don’t hit the color exactly but from tomato-red to a slightly purple burgundy, I still have the hots for red jeans. Anything you would like to add?

Lolita x Tomboy

Last night I had a dream: I went back to Australia but for only 72hours. (Why one would travel around the globe for 72hours Down Under is beyond my logic.) What did I do with my precious time? After being followed by a gigantic snake I mainly went for some shopping. Some of my favorite blogs are from the southern hemisphere which may explain me dreaming about the continent far far away where Summer wardrobe dreams seem to come true.

Is the Australian Summer really so far away for this Berlinette? Then I remembered OneTeaspoon a label which is also available in Europe. I got the lookbook quickly to share with my readers. I must say, my love for this young label is growing even more. The Fall-Winter 2011 collection named The Wanderer mixes the perfect lolita look with tough tomboy style. Shorts, kimono-inspired jackets and babydolls meet XXL legged jeans and buttoned up shorts. My favorites are definitely those wide jeans paired with the kimono jackets. Inspiring!
