Fashion Week’s Most Anticipated ::: WOOD WOOD SS 2012

Posted in Fashion, Fashion Week by strytllng on July 8, 2011

A relaxed atmosphere in Berlin’s Summer evening sun attracked a colorful crowd of streetwear lovers.

Attending Copenhagen’s streetwear label WOOD WOOD‘s show last night, did not disappoint. This was the most anticipated presentation of Berlin Fashion Week so far and not only did the off location in an old industrial yard stress the distinction from other aspiring high-fashion designers showing their collection to a very small selected few. The outdoor backyard character with the setting sun brought out the warm colors in the Spring/Summer 2012 collection called STATE OF MIND.

Inspired by trips to Southern California, we see hippies, collegiate and Native American influences. The warm colors of the evening sun dipping into the ocean or coloring the deserts in a deep orange can be seen in beautiful tie-dyes on natural high quality fabrics such as sand-washed silk, Angora wool, woven knits and fine cotton.

Some of my favorites were the red knitted dress with a naked back and the coats with special lining. But did you see the long braid with pom poms? That’s were they had my heart pumping.

WOOD WOOD coming to Berlin Fashion Week

Posted in Fashion Week, Video by strytllng on June 21, 2011

Danish streetwear superstars, WOOD WOOD, have announced to do their first show ever on the catwalk at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin (the first week of July). Now let’s hope I can get that invitation I need to see this highly anticipated show in the tent.

Berlin Press Days ::: Day 1 @ Agency V

Posted in Fashion by strytllng on April 19, 2011

If WOOD WOOD, Monki, WEEKDAY, Stine Goya, Sabrina Dehoff and Henrik Vibskov are gathered in one showroom, it’s a place that I don’t save for last. It’s Agency V showing some of the most beautiful Scandinavian and Berlin designs and it meant my most anticipated stop during Berlin Press Days 2011. Stine Goya showed harmonious soft coloring and lovely details in print and design, WEEKDAY brings back the basic T-Shirt, the cargo workwear look and western trend has arrived in Navajo-inspired prints and heavy tailoring. And then there is Sabrina Dehoff…do I really need to praise her stunning jewellery?

Lookbook ellesse x WOOD WOOD

I am sure you all saw the pictures of the pool party (which I still consider the best thing Berlin Fashion Week had to offer). Just to give you the whole picture, here are the clothes that were the reason we were there. Plus they were the prize you could have won at the “wheel of fortune”. Too bad they were ueber-big and little people like myself just don’t fit into XL shoes ;-). I am hoping to receive samples soon so I can show you the details of some of these items.

Have a great summer day!

Impressions ::: ellesse x WOOD WOOD Pool Party

Posted in Uncategorized by strytllng on July 10, 2010

Two sportswear / high-end streetwear labels that I like. One great location. Ice-cream and spin the wheel. A big pool with plenty of toys to play around with – yes, I took a dip. Probably the most unique party the Fashion Week has seen so far! THANX.

ellesse x WOOD WOOD pool party

I’ll be looking forward to this clash of sports and -streetwear from two different decades. Can’t wait to see the symbiosis happening. ellesse was one of my very first posts when they had their comeback last January and be sure to read all about the pool party in a week. Until then, I will leave the office for a nice day at the beach with my girls – it’s simply to hot NOT to be around water. 36° – not my type of weather. The pool party is by invitation only!

Have a great weekend!
